Roster and team-building app for ranch rodeo events.
If something isn't working the way you expect, or you have a question or a suggestion, send an email to support@elkechoranch.com and include a short description of what you were trying to do.
Open the Roster tab and tap the + button. Enter the rider's name, mark whether they're a child or a parent and whether their waiver is signed, and choose how many rides they're requesting. If you mark a rider as a child, you can pick which other riders are that child's parents — they'll ride together automatically. New riders are active by default.
Once your roster is ready, switch to the Teams tab and tap Generate. The app builds teams — three or four riders each, your choice — pairing children with one of their parents on every ride and spacing each rider's rides apart so nobody is asked to ride back-to-back.
Yes. Open Settings and pick the team size under Team Size. Changing it clears any teams you've already generated so you can build a fresh set at the new size.
Yes. Open a rider and choose a Preferred Team. When you generate, those riders are seated on their requested team first, before the other rules run — handy when friends want to ride together. If a team fills up or the number no longer exists, that rider is simply placed normally.
Turn a rider inactive — either with the toggle in the rider's editor or by swiping the rider's row on the roster. Inactive riders stay on the roster with their name crossed out, but they're left out of team generation, the rider and ride counts, and every printout. Switch them back to active anytime.
The Schedule tab shows each rider with the team numbers they're assigned to. Tap a rider's card to open their editor if you need to update their waiver status or ride count.
Yes. Tap any team to open it, then use the menu next to a rider to move them to another team or remove them. Teams with warnings — like an unsigned waiver or the wrong number of riders for your chosen team size — are flagged so you can fix them before printing.
From the Teams tab, tap the printer icon to open a print preview. You can AirPrint directly, save as a PDF, or share the file. The Show rider details toggle controls whether each rider's child/parent label appears on the printed sheet.
Open Settings and tap Save Roster to share or save the file anywhere iOS lets you — Files app, email, AirDrop, iCloud Drive, etc. Next year, open Settings and tap Load Roster to bring it back. You can also export the roster as a spreadsheet for editing in Excel or Numbers.
Everything stays on your device. The app doesn't have an account system and doesn't send your roster anywhere unless you explicitly share or export it.
Yes. Every feature — adding riders, generating teams, editing teams, printing, and saving or loading roster files — runs entirely on your device. No cell service or Wi-Fi required. AirPrint still works if your iPad and the printer share a local Wi-Fi network (no internet needed for that either).
One small heads-up: if you saved a roster file to iCloud Drive and the file hasn't been downloaded to your iPad yet, you'll need to either be online when you load it or pre-download it ahead of time (long-press the file in the Files app and choose Download Now). Roster files kept in On My iPad are always available.
